Well many of us have been intrigued by a little café signboard popping up while traveling towards gangapur dam from past few months, so one fine day we decided to give it a try, and it turned out a wise decision.

This little place is known as Diony’s Bistro & Lounge(their name is derived from Greek mythology)is an all-day dining place with options for breakfast, lunch & dinner. The place base on the greek themed architecture with fluorescent white tiles & little greek artifacts. They have two options to seat indoor and outdoor, we opted for the later.

Since we went there during brunch time so we got an excuse to try their breakfast & lunch menu at the same time, we  started out with a classic breakfast of Kheema Pav, though we all know breakfast culture here in Nashik is not thriving and we have a very few breakfast options especially for non-vegetarian food, a kheema pav on menu made us quite happy. Kheema had nice consistency and texture to it and meat was very fresh. After a kheema, we went for another staple breakfast of Pancakes with maple syrup and It was again spot on, perfectly fluffy and moist. The third dish we tried was Eggs kejriwal an interesting preparation of eggs and bun. I am not a huge fan of sunny side up but it was a decent dish.

Eggs Kejriwal at Dionys Bistro & Lounge Nashik Pancakes at Dionys Bistro & Lounge Nashik Kheema Pav at Dionys Bistro & Lounge Nashik

After a heavy breakfast, we had a very little appetite, so we went for Thai Curry & Khowsuey. Khowsuey is Burmese noodle soup with accompaniments of peanuts, fried onion, lime, chilly flecks. and Believe me, nothing can help keep you warm with a piping hot plate of khowsuey in Nashik’s winter.  Thai curry served with a portion of rice. and it was again quite authentic and the best one we had in Nashik.e

Khowsuey at Dionys Bistro & Lounge Nashik Thai Curry at Dionys Bistro & Lounge Nashik

To sum up our experience Diony’s turned out unexpectedly better than we have thought. To our surprise despite their decent service and amazing decor, prices are quite reasonable, we had all the above dishes for around 1100 INR. which was totally a steal.

We all know despite hundreds of Cafe’s around the town we have very few options to rely on for decent café food and ambiance, And we couldn’t hide our excitement when we visit Coffee Junction, a Cafe located exactly opposite of City center mall. This place serves a decent menu with options of Coffees, Shakes, Juices, Pizzas, Salads, and Tit-Bits. And the icing on the cake is they operate all night long.

Coffee Junction 24 Hrs Nashik Coffee Junction 24 Hrs Nashik Coffee Junction 24 Hrs Nashik Coffee Junction 24 Hrs Nashik

Usually, most of the cakes in Nashik serves a pretty basic menu of Sandwiches, Burgers, and Pizzas but to our surprise, Cafe Junction had Momos, Chole Kulchas and few other mini meal options apart from baked food.

We had a lot on our table right from Momos to House special Punjabi pizza, Chole Kulche, and Salad. We must admit food quality was good, We liked chole kulche a lot for their tangy and spicy flavors followed by Salad and Pizza, Punjabi pizza was interesting as it had Punjabi chutney’s on top with assorted veggies. Salad was also fresh and had nice chunks of sausages and salami.

But apart from all these dishes, Their English breakfast made our day. That protein filled platter of sausages, eggs, and salami was the best thing we had recently in Nashik and we highly recommend their breakfast.

For all these dishes we paid around 800 INR which was a nice deal for the given quantity and quality. So visit Coffee Junction and let us know your feedback in the comment section below.

Nashik is now getting warmed up in its pre-summer heat and people around the town seems to be getting off their houses to stroll the streets. In these warm evenings, nobody can control to indulge in some fatty, greasy and spicy food but sometimes, maybe sometimes guilt of the spending too much on food kicks in ;) so to make you guilt-free, we have compiled a list of 5 amazing greasy, spicy and amazing street food gems across the town which are high on taste but low on your wallet!

All these places are street food joints and not a restaurant, So there is no or adequate seating will be available, also hygiene standards might be lower in some places so take precautions.

1. Rolls at Nashik Wraps: We have recently discovered the best rolls in Nashik, a food truck near Don Bosco school on college road called “Nashik Wraps” have an amazing menu of rolls to choose from. Our Favourite from the list is Egg Masala roll and Chicken Kasuri roll so far.

Avg Price per roll: 50 Rs.

2. Kebabs at Pathardi Phata: Can you imagine anything better than a plate of piping hot kebabs taken out from the live grill and served you right away? To experience this, visit a small Kebab cart located near Pathardi Phata.

Chicken Tikka Kebab: 50 Rs per plate

3. Bread Omelette at Mitravihar: After eating omelet sandwich at Mitravihar canteen your idea of bread omelet will change forever!  4 Pieces of bread, omelet and loads of butter is served in a single serving. The amount of butter that goes into this dish is literally crazy. Try their strong coffee as well!

Bread Omelette 40 Rs per plate.

4. Momos: Momos have become a staple diet in Nashik from last few years, Nashik’s cold weather and spicy eating habits of very well complement this dish! There are few stalls which serve momos but we’ll recommend one which stands near BYK college. They have both Veg, Paneer and Chicken variants so choose according to your preference.

Chicken Momos 60 Rs per plate.

5. Kheema & Bhurji at Tibetian Market: Well this list is incomplete without mention of Bhurji at the Tibetian market. This market is a popular shopping destination and home to multiple street food vendors as well. Stalls spread over this food court serves you Chinese, Indian and what not. But stick to the basics and order yourself a plate of Bhurji and a kheema, and the place will never disappoint you. This place is bit hygienic so take precautions and carry a water bottle with you.

Double Bhurji will cost you 60 Rs & Kheema is for 90 Rs.

Food Review: Famous Rajkamal Misal from Narayangaon is now in Nashik

The frequent Nashik-Pune travelers must have been to this little joint Rajkamal Misal, Located at Narayangaon this place has a reputation for serving amazing misal and no Nashik Pune trip is complete without a halt at Rajkamal.

So, we couldn’t hide our excitement when we heard the news about Rajkamal misal has started in Nashik. So we landed the next day to get our hands on their famous Kolhapuri Misal.

Unlike Nashik’s misal recipe, Rajkamal misal is made with red masala, not the black one and taste is slightly less spicy as compared to Nashik’s Misal. However, we liked the taste and texture of the misal. You want it to be spicy just and some tarri and you’re good to go.

Rajkamal Misal Kolhapuri in Nashik

One dish that deserves a mention here is Kadhi Wada, A dish which we had for the first time was splendid. A batata wada and Kadhi was served with a topping of shev. The kadhi wada is slightly sweet and sour in taste and when you mix wada and kadhi together it blends perfectly with the sweet and sour taste of kadhi and spiciness of batata.

We ended our meal with banana sheera, it had a nice texture and subtle taste of banana and just the right amount of sweetness. Overall the experience was superb and we enjoyed our meal a lot.

Well, who doesn’t know “GoodLuck Cafe”, the most iconic eatery in Pune city? This place has been serving good food almost for a century and had earned a reputation for serving the best Irani food in Pune since 1935. To serve people from other places, Goodluck has now started its diversified brand called “Chota Bite by GoodLuck Cafe”, a food chain to serve popular snacks and beverages from the Goodluck menu. And recently they’ve started operating in Nashik as “Chota Bite Nashik by Goodluck Cafe”

Chota Bite as the name suggests serves popular dishes from the Goodluck Menu such as bun maska, bun omelette, chicken/mutton kheema, Irani chai and few others. Being a cafe themed, most of the menu from Chota Bite is finger food and small dishes usually suited for breakfast as well as for small meals.

Chota Bite by GoodLuck Cafe
Chota Bite by GoodLuck Cafe

Goodluck is popular for their in-house baked buns and omelettes and these buns are delivered every day from Pune to retain the quality of the product. Unlike regular bun maska we get in the city, the bun maska at Chota Bite comes with a huge dollop of butter.

Chota Bite by GoodLuck Cafe
Chota Bite by GoodLuck Cafe

Another famous dish we tried was Kheema Pav & Kheema Fry Masala. Both the dishes were made out of Mutton and tasted extremely good. We had our kheema with bun maska instead of Pav and the combination turned out to be spot on with Butter, Kheema & Soft Bun. Kheema here is not grainy in texture and had a slightly paste-like consistency which made all the spices to get perfectly mixed with mutton. Kheema Fry Masala was little spicy compared to the regular mutton kheema.

Chota Bite by GoodLuck Cafe
Chota Bite by GoodLuck Cafe

Irani tea was exactly the same as what we had in Goodluck quite low on Sugar so if have a sweet tooth do tell them to make it a bit sweet. Apart from Buns, Eggs and Kheema Chota Bite have a huge choice of Rolls, delicious snacks like Chicken Nuggets, Chicken Sausages, Sandwiches, French Fries & much more.

Chota Bite by GoodLuck Cafe

Well, after all these dishes we weren’t able to dig into something else but we’re willing to visit this place soon to try out their rolls and few other dishes.

This place is located near mahatama nagar cricket ground beside Nasikkar Hotel, Place have a seating capacity of around 20-25 people and they have small inside section and outdoor seating. Cleanliness is well maintained and service is decent.

So try out ‘Chota Bite Nashik by Goodluck Cafe’ and let us know your feedback in comment section.

Food Review: Hotel Radhakrishna, Best seafood in Nashik

Verdict: Best seafood in town, Hands down!
Rating: 4/5
Table For Two: 1000 Rs.

Address: Hotel Radhakrishna, Plot No: P-35, Behind I.T.I, Trimbak Road, MIDC, Satpur, Nashik, Maharashtra 422007

As we all know Nashik seriously lacks a good seafood restaurant, there are few exceptions like Sugras Canteen but getting your hands on nice crispy fried prawns or those juicy bombils is a tough job in the city and a pain only a seafood lover can understand. Today we’re talking about the hidden gem and another exceptional place in the city tucked away in MIDC area surrounded by factories.

If you are familiar with this restaurant you might have already guessed the name, “Hotel Radhakrishna”. This place has been known for serving amazing seafood for few decades famous with its regulars this lives up to the expectation.

This place is surrounded by factories and has a basic ambiance this is not a very upscale or a fancy place. But the place is clean tidy and have comfortable seating. They also have a bar which is separated from the main seating area. They almost serve everything a standard restaurant serves, an array of veg and non-vegetarian Indian and Chinese dishes, though the main attraction is their amazing seafood.

Radhakrishna Best Seafood in Nashik
Radhakrishna Best Seafood in Nashik

Since we were confused we ordered two thalis instead of a la carte menu, A chicken thali, and special fish thali. Both thalis looked spectacular when they arrived on the table. Starting with chicken thali it had two different types of chicken gravies Chicken malwani, egg bhurji, sol kadhi and rice. Special fish thali had 4 types of fish i.e. bombil, surmai, bangda (2 fried and 2 curries), solkadhi, rice and chapatis. The thalis were totally value for money. Chicken malwani had a very distinctive malwani touch, unlike most restaurants which serve any curry under the malwani label. Fish thalis were almost had coastal touch, especially I liked the bangda curry a lot. Fried fish was amazing too, fresh, juicy and crispy perfectly in every sense. Though solkadhi was little too bland which can be improved.

Overall the meal was really something to look forward to every weekend. fresh, nicely made and value for money. the service was very prompt and the staff is well sound with the dishes they server so ask them if you’re confused.

Thalis is just a small portion of what they serve, and we are eager to try down their other dishes especially the prawn’s fry but till the please visit Radhakrishna and let us know your feedback in the comment section.

Nashik has seen a handful of new restaurants popping up from in last few months. From dessert-only places to a full fledged cafe’s, the city has got some exciting options for food enthusiasts to try out.  One such place which we stumbled upon was the eatery, a small tucked away restaurant located in Savarkar nagar.

Generally, we are accustomed to a lengthy menu with exactly the same dishes at every other restaurant and very few restaurants dare to take a risk by eliminating the unnecessary dishes and focus on a small and limited menu. This is USP of eatery they have very handful dishes so there is no confusion about what to choose.

They serve both Veg and Non-Veg food, however, we found the menu more inclined toward the non-vegetarian side. Also, the owners cook the food and all the recipes and spices which are used are homemade. We found a lot of interesting picks from the menu like Sajuk Tup Biryani (Biryani in desi ghee), Burgers in the hand-rolled patty, grill mint chicken, and Muttonchops.

Caramel Custard Eatery Nashik

Taste is amazing and you can feel that food is not made from premade gravies and with heavy preservatives. So even after a heavy meal, you don’t feel bloated. We ended our meal with caramel custard and it was very well made.

Overall we had a decent experience service is a bit slow but it was worth the wait. The price range is 200-300 so a meal for two will cost you around 700 bucks.

Tourists welcome Sula’s redeemable entry fee measure to make vineyard premise safer

With a rise in unwanted social elements, women’s safety has become a national concern these days and thus, Sula Vineyards too, has taken steps towards making the vineyard experience safer for women tourists as well as others. For the first time since its inception Sula Vineyards in July 2018 started mandating an entry fee for guests visiting the vineyard at Govardhan, Nashik to which the tourists have given a very positive response. This measure has helped in filtering out the crowd and keeping a section of the miscreants away.

Due Sula’s increasing popularity, the vineyard attracts a huge crowd of about 6000-7000 visitors every week. People from all over the country and abroad are visiting Nashik to experience the wine-making process at Sula, thus contributing to the wine revolution that Sula has commenced. However, with a huge crowd in the premise, the probabilities of malefactors entering the vineyard had also increased. Many of these people are not interested in anything except harassing tourists, thus maligning Sula as well as Nashik. To filter out these mischievous elements, many steps have been taken by the vineyard like imposing a redeemable entry fee of Rs 100.

These steps have been taken with an aim to make lakhs of visitors that flock to the winery more comfortable.

“Going ahead with our people-friendly practices and quickly responding to a few grievances about unwanted elements we have decided to filter out the crowd. We are concentrating on quality of tourists and thus, we have started collecting an entry fee of Rs 100 from visitors against which we issue redeemable vouchers. The idea is not to earn off the entry but to filter the crowd making the experience of the tourists more ideal. Sula was always a safe place for women travellers and this measure will make their experience safer,” says Vice President – Hospitality, Sula Vineyards, Monit Dhavale.

On the occasion of World Tourism Day this month, we also spoke to some of the visitors who gave a very positive response to these newly deployed added safety measures. Restaurateur and a regular at the vineyard Shahrukh Patel says, “It is a very good initiative by Sula to ensure safety and comfort of guests. Many a times women and even couples are beleaguered by some miscreants who come to the vineyard with no intention to learn anything about wines or enjoy the ambience but only to ‘have some fun’.”

Suman Dutta, who runs an educational institute in Nashik and likes to visit Sula often, said, “There are a few people who come to the vineyard just to ogle over others. It is great that this entry fee will push out that crowd entirely making the experience more safe and friendly for women travellers.”
